Breakfast Martini with Seville Orange Marmalade

Robin, one of our lovely customers, took our marmalade off the breakfast table, put it into a cocktail shaker and kindly sent us their creation. The result? Rather brilliant. This citrus-laced Breakfast Martini gets an extra burst of flavour from a spoonful of our bold, fruity marmalade, adding just the right balance of sweetness and sharpness.

Ingredients​

  • 2 shots Dry Gin
  • 3/4 shot Cointreau
  • 3/4 shot lemon juice
  • 1 tsp The Dockyard Company marmalade

Method

  1. Add the marmalade
    Spoon 1 teaspoon of The Dockyard Company marmalade into a cocktail shaker. This is where the magic begins.
  2. Pour in the spirits
    Add 2 shots of dry gin and 3/4 shot of Cointreau.
  3. Add fresh lemon juice
    Pour in 3/4 shot of freshly squeezed lemon juice for that bright citrus lift.
  4. Shake well
    Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until the outside feels nicely chilled.
  5. Strain and serve
    Double strain into a chilled martini glass to achieve a smooth finish.
  6. Optional garnish
    Garnish with a thin twist of orange peel or a small sliver of peel for an elegant touch.

Serve immediately and enjoy a beautifully balanced Breakfast Martini with a bold marmalade twist.
